The concerts are conducted in a purse-built amphitheatre that has become well renowned for offering an excellent musical venue in the heart of the forest. The amphitheatre comes complete with stage, terracing cut into slopes for seating, professional lighting and a sound shell to unsure the best in music quality. Additional tiered seating provides excellent viewing from the hotel balconies. The idea for the amphitheatre arose after a seel-out concert in the summer of 1985 when David Helfgott performed his first outdoor recital at the hotel. A stage was erected at the side of the pool and chairs were placed around the pool and gardens. More than 800 people flocked to the show, cramming onto the footpaths, garden beds and staircases. Such was its popularity that the hotel owners embarked on a major venture to improve the hotel's status as a venue. This hugely popular venue can now seat more than 1200 people. Extra seating is provided during concerts and parking attendants direct traffic. The hotel also instlls lighting into car park areas for the convenience of visitors. |
